Pepperdine 100, Alabama A&M 64
Bulldogs fall at Pepperdine thanks to hot shooting from deep
MALIBU, Calif. – The Alabama A&M University men’s basketball program was topped by Pepperdine 100-64 Monday evening in its final non-conference game of the season.
The long ball derailed the Bulldogs in the contest, as Pepperdine (7-7) made 15 3-pointers and led 50-24 at halftime.
Alabama A&M fell behind 10-2 after the initial goings but managed to get within six after an Arthur Johnson three-pointer. The contest got away from Alabama A&M thanks to a 20-3 Pepperdine run over the final 5:57 of the first half. The Bulldogs were unable to make up any ground in the second half.
Tre Todd led Alabama A&M (1-13) with 14 points. He made four 3-pointers. Jalen Reeder added eight points for the Bulldogs.
Jade’ Smith scored 19 points to lead Pepperdine (7-7), and Eric Cooper poured in 17 points while Colbey Ross netted 10 points and dealt 13 assists. Pepperdine had six players in double figures during the game.
